WASHINGTON – White House adviser Kellyanne Conway said Friday that President Donald Trump resumed his press reports on the coronavirus, as polls show a U.S. disapproval of the president’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Conway said her opinion was different from that of other White House staff but told “Fox and Friends” Trump’s approval ratings were “much higher when he was out there briefing everybody on a day-by-day basis, just giving people the information.”
“I think the president does, ” he said.
According to the fivethirtyEight average, Trump’s approval rate on the 50.2% coronavirus pandemic, with a 45.8% disapproval rate at his last convention in the White House meeting room on April 27.
As of July 17, 58% of Americans disapprove of Trump’s handling of the pandemic and 38% approve of it, to FiveTh’s average.
When asked why Trump stopped holding briefings, Conway said “some other people inspire him to stop.”
Trump argued with the press during lengthy press meetings at the start of the pandemic and was widely criticized by fitness experts after commenting that he suggests that ultraviolet rays and disinfectants can only treat coronavirus.
The Trump administration’s handling of the pandemic and protests opposed to racial justice have generated complaints even from some Republican members of Congress.

A recent ballot shows that the highest Americans do not accept as true with Trump’s coronavirus data and instead accept as true with statements from medical experts such as the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Dr. Anthony Fauci.
A Quinnipiac University ballot released Wednesday showed that 30% of the electorate trusted information on Trump’s coronavirus, and 67 percent did not. By contrast, 65% of the electorate trusted Fauci and 61% trusted the CDC.
The effects showed, however, a department between the party lines. Only 27 percent of independents and 4% of Trump Democrats in coronavirus, yet 71% of Republicans did.
Kyle Kondik, a political analyst at the University of Virginia Policy Center, said on Twitter that former Vice President Joe Biden’s presidential crusade can gain advantages from a return to briefings.
“We couldn’t agree more!” tweeted Biden spokesman Mike Gwin in reaction to Conway’s comments.
