A Florida teenager accused of being the “brain” of social media site hacking Twitter in July has been arrested, according to Tampa’s WFLA Channel 8 News website.

Graham Clark, 17, faces 30 felony counts for “defrauding others across america” for hacking Twitter. Charged with organized fraud, 17 counts of communication fraud, a charge of fraudulent use of nonpublic data with more than $100,000 or 30 or more victims, 10 charges of fraudulent use of non-public data, and a charge of unauthorized access to a PC or electronic device.

According to Twitter’s internal investigations, Twitter workers were the subject of a “phone phishing attack,” suggesting that the hackers called some of their staff and led them to talk to their Twitter colleagues.

The targeted workers won on Twitter’s internal systems, allowing hackers to breach accounts. Twitter’s internal team was used to target 130 accounts, and for forty-five of the accounts, the hackers used a password reset and had to send tweets.

Of the 130 unfulfilled accounts, including Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s accounts, former U.S. President Barack Obama, former Microsoft CEO Bill Gates, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, and presidential candidate Joe Biden, hackers had access to data such as email addresses and phone numbers. , in addition, for some accounts Matrix access to direct messages made.

“These crimes were perpetrated using the names of other notable people and celebrities, yet they are not the ones who suffer the most here. This ‘Bit-Con’ was designed to borrow money from ordinary Americans across the country, and added here in Florida.” said in a statement. “This great fraud was orchestrated right here in our garden, and we won’t stand for it.”

In a statement, Twitter said it appreciated the rapid movements of law enforcement officials in Florida.

Update: Along with Graham Clark, the U.S. Department of Justice announced that a 22-year-old from Florida and a 19-year-old boy from the UK have been charged with violating the Twitter site.

Mason Sheppard, a 19-year-old alias “Chaewon,” by Bognor Regis, UK, has been charged in connection with an illegal complaint in the Northern District of California for conspiracy to devote electronic fraud, conspiracy to devote cash laundering, and intentional access to a computer.

Nima Fazeli, a 22-year-old alias “Rolex,” from Orlando, Florida, was indicted in an illegal complaint in the Northern District of California for helping and instigating intentional access to a computer.

The Justice Department has refused to call Graham Clark because he is 18, but his identity has already been revealed through Florida news sites.

“There is a false trust within the hacker network that attacks like Twitter hacking can be perpetrated anonymously and inconsequently,” US prosecutor Anderson said. “Today’s announcement of political judgment shows that the exaltation of malicious piracy in a safe environment for emotion or benefit will be short-lived. Criminal behavior on the Internet might seem stealthy to the other people who perpetuate them, but there is nothing stealthy about it in particular, I have to tell potential criminals, violate the law and we’ll track it down.”

Sheppard faces up to forty-five years in prison, while Fazeli faces up to five years in prison.
