Beyoncé’s fashion moments from “Black Is King”

Beyoncé’s long-awaited visual album “Black Is King” was released today on Disney, and the superstar made the fashion industry pale. Incorporating last summer’s music “The Lion King: The Gift,” the 85-minute film was created as a celebratory memoir of the delight of other blacks and a tribute to “the breadth and good looks of black ancestry.” Not surprisingly, this isn’t your history lesson: the 24-winning Grammy Award-winning artist delivered this harsh message through a couture lens and gave the world the gold to dress.

With the help of her lifelong stylist, Zerina Akers, Beyoncé’s wardrobe has a combination of industry heavyweights such as Balmain, Valentino and Burberry, as well as an organization of black designers such as D.Bleu.Dazz, Loza Maléombho and Deviant La Vieled. The film also features a series of exciting star cameos from Kelly Rowland, Lupita Nyong’o, Naomi Campbell and even Blue Ivy, who wears a colorful Mugler outfit to fit her mother.

In a heartfelt Instagram legend this week, Beyoncé described the film as a “love job”; a hobby task that has filmed, studied and edited 24 hours a day during the following year. Through an impressive look, the artist and his artistic team hope to provide black history and African culture “with a touch of fashion and a universal message.”
