Trump lawyers to create new reasons for their tax returns

Trump’s court record has stated that he will most likely claim that the subpoena is too broad, motivated by a preference for harassment, aims to manipulate his political decisions or retaliate against him for official acts, and would harm his ability to present his duties. Array also say they’ll want to know more about the “nature and scope” of the investigation to assess whether the grand jury wants everything they ask for.

In other words, Trump’s team would possibly be turning tactics, but the desperation to keep their monetary records hidden has not been replaced at all as a result of Supreme Court defeats.

New York District Attorney Cyrus Vance doesn’t seem impressed.

… Vance said Trump can only oppose the subpoena for the same reasons anyone would and simply can’t claim he’s entitled to special attention because he’s president. With respect to his possible claims, Vance stated that the federal approval ruling had already ruled that there had been no miscon religion or attempted harassment and that compliance with the subpoena would not substantially affect the President’s ability to perform his official duties. It would be “very abnormal and inappropriate” for the president’s lawyers to investigate why the grand jury needs the documents, Vance said.

Although it first gave the impression last week that the High Court ruling would delay the dispute by several months, Trump’s lawyers are expected to record their new subpoena objections before the end of the month.

Keep an eye on this place.
