Virginia orders the removal of U.S. flag From the Richmond Structure Site

RICHMOND, go. (AP) – Virginia state officials ordered the removal of a giant American flag from a structure until July 4, calling it a possible target for protesters against racial injustice and police brutality.

Dena Potter, a spokeswoman for the State General Services Department, said officials had asked a contractor to remove the flag from a new structure for state lawmakers under the structure in Richmond.

“Over the next month, we’ve noticed that buildings and structures around Capitol Square were shattered and flags, dumpsters, a bus and other items placed in chimneys around the city,” Potter said in an email.

The Washington Post reports that the resolution infuriated a subcontractor whose fire-retardant company used tarware to make the flag, which lasts approximately one piece of land.
