No resolution has yet been taken on whether to do so, but the governor has announced that he would be allowed to compete cross-country when his normal season begins at the end of this month.

Cross-country was once regarded as a tactile game through the Ohio Department of Health, but Husted proved that it had been redesignated as a contactless game. Contactless fall games, which also come with golf, tennis and volleyball, were approved by the state for the normal festival in early June.

The official practice of all fall sports began on Saturday. Most groups have been practicing since the end of June, as OHSAA allowed maximum sports to be practiced an unlimited number of days this summer after a contactless era imposed on all sports from mid-March to the end of May.
