Former Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist Jack Sherman died at the age of 64.
He announced the news of his death on his social media sites.
One said: “We, the members of the RHCP family, wish Jack Sherman an elegant navigation in the worlds of the afterlife, because he has passed away.
“Jack played on our first album as on our first excursion to the United States.
“He’s an exclusive guy and we thank him for all the good, bad and intermediate times.
“Peace on the boogie platform”.

Jack is believed to have died on August 18, but the news was not made public until last night.
Sherman replaced Hillel Slovak on the first album of 1983 and the next Freaky Styley, but replaced by the Slovak before the release of this new album.
For many Red Hot Chili Peppers fans, he is a must-have member of the band, despite his short tenure in the rock band.
But it wasn’t included when the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012.
At the time, Billboard: “I’m in disgrace, and it sucks.”
Sherman performed with Notes of The Lost Civilization by Tonio K., Bob Dylan’s Knocked Out Loaded and the albums by George Clinton and Feargal Sharkey.
