Surprise! Singer Ed Sheeran and his Cherry Seaborn have a new addition to the family.
The 29-year-old featured personal artist revealed in an Instagram post Tuesday morning showing a small pair of military blue socks that welcomed a little woman last week.
“It!’ it! A little message from me because I have non-public news that I wanted to share with you,” Sheeran wrote in the title of the message, the first since he announced a social media breakup on Christmas Eve.”Last week, with the help of a delivery team, Cherry gave birth to our beautiful and healthy daughter, Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran.We are absolutely in love with her.”
This is the first child of Sheeran and Seaborn, 29, who have known others since childhood and attended the best school together.
“Mom and baby are doing incredibly well and we are on the new cloud here,” Sheeran added.”We hope you will be to respect our privacy at this time.Lots of love and I’ll see you when it is time to come back, Ed x”
USA TODAY contacted Sheeran’s representative for comments.
Sheeran’s engagement on Instagram in 2018 and, after years of keeping their love life a secret, announced in a song last year that he and Seaborn had secretly married.
The announcement came with the release of their new album, “No.6 Collaborations Project,” which was released last September. On the album track “Remember the Name” featuring Eminem and 50 Cent, Sheeran sings, “Look how the lyrics to this song can be twisted / My wife wears red but looks better without the lipstick.”
On the same day as the record, the singer showed in a video interview with Charlamagne Tha God that, yes, those lines mean that he and Seaborn are husband and wife.
“That was before Cherry and I got married, and I knew we’d be married until the moment the song came out,” he said.So I said, ‘Look how the lyrics of this song may be crooked / My wife dresses red but looks better without the lipstick ‘And I was like’ Because someone’s going to hear that and say ‘Oh, they’re married’, and I didn’t know what it would be like, but of course it’s already come out.”

The singer of “Shape of You” added that he is grateful for his marriage.
“I constantly wake up every day with Cherry and think, ‘Why are you with me?You can be literally with who you needed, and you chose me.And I say all the things that I think are wrong with me, but you have to be with me,” he told Charlamagne Tha God.”And I think it’s unbelievable.”
