A quiet Terminal 2 at Dublin Airport.Among the questions to be answered, who approved the 30 checks that took place on flights at Dublin Airport between early April and mid-June?
Questions, questions, questions. And then there were questions.
The Ministry of Employment and Social Protection, which has provided (and continues to provide) some of the essential facilities for all – beyond duty – the first months of the pandemic, now, sadly, through its use of the measures of ” control, “they created a scenario with the pandemic unemployment payment (PUP) that serves to create a probably endless parade of applications.
In early July, the branch created a mini-tornado for itself by asking its new minister, Heather Humphreys, to state legislative regulations stipulating that PUP registrants may not be abroad unless it is for essential reasons.
Soon after, the official eligibility criteria for those seeking access to the PUP were quietly changed, in reaction to a RI interview given through T-Nazi Leo Varadkar on July 26, to say they will have to “really look for work.”.
Ms. Humphreys first doubled the zeal of her officials to lower pay figures, before rejecting the Dukes of Hazzard after she was told that by aligning her regulations with the recommendation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the ban was itself illegal.
This, to mention, is a branch that showed a recent and stellar pedigree in the darkening and swearing that black is white until it is blue in the face, before throwing himself into depression and taking everyone to court.
However, let us focus on the problems raised through its inimitable PUP remedy, now that it has emerged, as this newspaper shows, that more than two-thirds of the controls it placed on airline flights for others abusing their access to unemployment benefits were travelling to Romania and Moldova, raising totally justified questions about racial profiling discrimination.
