LAC BUENA VISTA, Florida (AP) – NBA MVP defender Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks ruled Sunday’s fourth game of his team’s East Conference semi-final series against the Miami Heat after aggravating a sprained right ankle.
Antetokounmpo headed to the basket at 10:18 to pass in the quarter of a moment, looking to overtake Andre Iguodala of Miami, went down the stairs and screamed in pain as he grabbed his ankle, and soon reached the maximum of those at Bucks Bank to gather around him, worried.
Antetokounmpo nevertheless went to the bench and then returned to the area to make his shots loose, he had to take them to have the chance to return to the game, according to NBA rules.
In the end, it doesn’t matter: the Bucks announced at halftime that Antetokounmpo would return to the game and finish with 19 numbers in 12 minutes.
The Bucks fell 3-0 in the series Sunday and faced elimination. Antetokounmpo scored 18 of Milwaukee’s first 26 problems in Game 4, shooting 8 of 10 from the area before injuring himself.
Antetokounmpo first of all sprained his ankle in practice in the first quarter of Game 3 of the series on Friday night, ended with 21 points, 16 rebounds and nine assists in 35 minutes, but fired only 7 of 21 in the area and missed his seven 3-point attempts.
Antetokounmpo insisted after the third game that he did not bother at the ankle of the match.
He is expected to win the MVP award for a moment in the consecutive season after averaging 29.5 points, 13.6 rebounds and 5.6 assists.In the first of the playoffs against Orlando, Antetokounmpo averaged 30.6 points, 16 rebounds and six assists with 59% shots from 39% in triples.
But in the first three games of the series against Heat, their offensive numbers cooled dramatically: it averaged 22.7 points, 13.3 rebounds and seven assists: 45% of the area and 15% beyond the 3-point arc.
