Men’s and women’s players qualified for Saturday’s quarter-finals in the U.S.Open.
Last year’s men’s singles finalist, Daniil Medvedev, took less than two hours to beat Jeffrey John Wolf.Medvedev has won his first three matches in straight sets and appears to be on a collision path with second seed Dominic Thiem finishing a possible return from Marin.Cilic to win in 4 sets on Saturday night.
On the women’s side, Serena Williams’ quest for a 24th Grand Slam continued seriously, but without the concern of fellow American Sloane Stephens.
Williams lost the first set 2-6, with Stephens controlling the rally and forcing Serena to retreat to the baseline, but Williams received a combination and began making more of his first moves, allowing him to set the pace and win the next two.sets 6-2, 6-2.
This year’s Australian Open champion Sofia Kenin won in two sets, but former U.S. Open finalist Madison Keys was forced to retire after suffering an obvious neck injury.Meanwhile, Victoria Azarenka remained fit, beating Iga Swiatek in two sets.

Sunday Summary
World number one Novak Djokovic will seem undefeated in his quest for an 18th Grand Slam title when he takes on Pablo Carreno Busta in the afternoon, but the men’s adjustment will take place later Sunday night.
Canadian star Denis Shapovalov withstood many dramas at first.Shapovalov needed four sets in his first two games, then needed a fifth set to beat American Taylor Fritz on Friday at Arthur Ashe Stadium.4 sets in his first two matches, however, he can gain momentum after beating Filip Krajinovic directly on Friday.
Shapovalov, 21, has been an immediate rise in the ATP ranks, while Goffin has bounced between the 10 most sensitive and the 20 most sensitive in the last two years.Shapovalov’s youth, strength and strength create an attractive contrast to the consistent Goffin, who constantly struggles to stay on each and every point and strives to succeed in each and every ball.
Former U.S. Open champion Naomi Osaka will enter the box at the end of the Shapovalov-Goffin attack when faced with 14th seed Anett Kontaveit.
Osaka needed three sets in two of his first 3 fites, and his ham ham tendon injury can be a concern. The 22-year-old retired from the Western and South Open final just before starting the fit at the US Open.and said earlier in the week that he thought he “could be better” physically.
Kontaveit overcate an early deficit in his first circular attack on Danielle Rose Collins, but won from his last two straight sets, adding a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Magda Linette in which he won 4 of his five break points.
Another intriguing attack will feature three-time Grand Slam champion Angelique Kerber against 25-year-old American Jennifer Brady, who won her first Tournament at the Top Seed Open in August. No player has lost a set in the tournament.
Other stars, including Alexander Zverev and Petra Kvitova, will take the court on Sunday, and there will be a lot of intrigue as players look for a quarter-final position.
