The store had been empty since the BHS collapse in 2016, and planned to divide it into smaller units, adding a bar and restaurant, as well as smaller shops.

However, there were rumors that Sports Direct owner Mike Ashley had been interested in buying the store, and before this year he showed that his company had purchased the entire store property.

He announced that he would move his Sports Direct store, which lately is in a first-floor unit on Carr Street with a very small entrance, to Butter Market with a Flannels store and a USC store, all of the same group.

At the time, there was a separate Jack Wills store in Ipswich, which became a component of the Sports Direct organization last year. Since then it has closed, however, it has not been announced whether it can only register for the other brands in the yetter market.

Now, store installers Sloane Curtis, who promote it on their online page who are running with Sports Direct and their sister company The Fraser Group, have moved to start running in the former BHS store.

An Ipswich Council spokesman said they had not yet heard from the site’s new owners, but noted that since the unit had been a store since the 1990s, no request for replacement use would be necessary, planners would have to approve any new symptoms or fascias.

During the blockade, no one at Sports Direct was able to tell how their plans for the site were progressing. We asked for more information on what happens to the arrival of the installers, but we have not yet had an answer.

It is not transparent whether Sports Direct, Flannels and USC would have separate outlets with the split branch, or whether they would be shelves in a giant unit.

When he announced his purchase, Sports Direct stated that the store would come with the House of Fraser logo purchased through Ashley last year.

Since then, the band’s call has been replaced from Sports Direct to Fraser Group; the sports logo remains at the heart.
