President Donald Trump refused Tuesday night to promise not to claim victory until the election qualifies independently and all ballots are counted, while Democratic candidate Joe Biden has promised he will wait.
The former vice president also predicted that Trump would also settle for the election results, no matter what he said.
Applicants were responding to a consultation at the end of Tuesday’s presidential debate raised through moderator Chris Wallace, who noted that it may take days or weeks to count all ballots due to the large volume of ballots by mail expected for the coronavirus pandemic.
Wallace asked if they would commit to urging their followers to “stay calm during this long period” and pledge to claim victory early.
“I urge my supporters to go to the polls and watch very conscientiously because this is what has to happen,” Trump said, refusing to commit. “I hope this is a fair election. If it is a fair election, I am one hundred percent on board. But if I see tens of thousands of tampered ballots, I cannot settle for this. “
Mail ballots, as opposed to those Trump has been making unfounded allegations of fraud for months, are likely to sesue Biden because the Democratic electorate has asked for more ballots than the Republican electorate.
Biden promptly agreed that the choir would not claim victory early. “Yes,” he said, adding, “No one has established at all that there is electoral fraud in the mail, which is a fraudulent process. “
Biden continued: “You have no idea what you’re talking about. Here’s the deal. The fact is, I’ll take it, and so will he. You know why? Because once the winner is declared, after all the ballots are counted, all the votes are counted, that will be the end. “
“If it’s me, actually, it’s okay. If it’s not me, I’ll be the result. “
Trump has said without evidence for months that mail voting would result in widespread voter fraud that would gain advantages for Biden and Democrats. During Tuesday’s debate, he also said he would seek to challenge an election dispute over ballots before the Supreme Court.

“I’m counting on them to take a look at the ballots, certainly,” Trump said.
Trump’s refusal to admit an election defeat comes a week after he engaged in a nonviolent power movement.
Defending the mail-order voting method, Biden suggested his supporters forget Trump’s allegations of fraud, telling them that the president is looking for them to remain in the house on Election Day.
“He sits at Resolute Desk and sends his poll to Florida,” Biden said, referring to Trump’s own history of mail voting.
“It’s about deterring others from voting because they’re looking for other people to think it might not be legitimate. “Come and vote. ” You will see the final results of this election. Vote, vote, vote. “
Biden added: “You can’t stop you from knowing the final results of this election. “
Trump called the vote by mail a “disaster,” noting that “millions” of unsolicited ballots are mailed to the electorate across the country.
However, in the vast majority of states, adding almost every state on the battlefield, the electorate will have to request ballots by mail.
Only nine states and the District of Columbia hold universal postal elections, whose ballots are automatically sent without requesting them from the entire registered electorate without the desire to apply in advance. Five of the states planned to hold general elections even before the pandemic, and only one state, Nevada, is considered a key state in the presidential race.
