GRAND RAPIDS – A local church donates $10,000 to Kids’ Food Basket to help young people master the pandemic.
Over the more than 29 weeks, Kids’ Food Basket has distributed more than 479,909 emergency food to 70 network distribution sites serving low-income families. While the need for healthy and balanced foods persists, the Orthodox Christian Church of St. Nicholas of Antioch is helping.
“Our project in St. Nicholas is to seek and share Christ’s love with all. In the midst of this crisis, we are grateful for the Antioqueñas Orthodox Charities / Food for Hungry People program. This has allowed us to make a contribution to Kids Food Basket to help feed some of the other most vulnerable people in our community,” said Father Michael Nasser, St. John’s pastor. Nicholas.
“Kids Food Basket in the contributions of our partners in the fight against hunger and the pandemic. We are grateful for the continued support of St. Nicholas,” said Julie VanGessel, director of community development at Kids Food Basket.
KFB serves young people in Allegan, Kent, Muskegon and Ottawa counties.
