At 11:45 a. m. on Friday morning, Fort Myers police cleared the outdoor domain at the conference center when bomb-detecting dogs began surrounding the center and people were invited without tickets to stand across the street.
Hours before Trump’s appearance in downtown Fort Myers, some local Republicans were excited to see the president in person, while others were injured for not being invited.
“I’m very disappointed not to see my president today,” Margie Stevens said. “I wasn’t even invited, which surprised me. I’m on the Republican Executive Committee. I volunteer at clubs.
