Brussels supports this crusade promoted through the Spanish Interprofessional Organisation for Beef Meat (Provacuno) and its Belgian counterpart APAQ-VLAAM, part of the call of the European Parliament and the Council of the EU 1144/2014 on agricultural-like promotional data and movements on the market. The EU will co-finance 80% of the total budget.
Data and promotion movements have as their general objective the competitiveness of the EU agricultural sector and, in this case, beef, and in particular will help to highlight the differentiated nature of this European product in relation to that of third countries the richness of essential nutrients, the importance of animal welfare, respect for the environment , sustainability and its linkage with the Mediterranean diet, without forgetting the maximum use of the product that contributes to the ‘zero residue’.
