If you saw the CJ Cup on the PGA Tour this weekend, you witnessed something never seen before.
No, not Shadow Creek Golf Course in Las Vegas. This ultra, ultra, ultra exclusive golf course has already appeared on television as the venue for the encounter between Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson.
What you see for the first time in a PGA Tour event is the odds of live betting, and not just running on a ramp at the back of the screen or silently along the look of the image, these are ratings that are promoted, discussed and updated live.
As the PGA Tour and other sports begin to perceive that there may be a source of profit to settle for the game as a component of the sports fan experience, organizations have begun to form partnerships with gaming companies. ESPN and other sports media have also started broadcasting systems totally faithful to the game.

But this is the first time that an official PGA Tour event has talked about odds and games. Yes, The Match in 2018 has had a lot of discussion about the player who would win that hole or the hole or the game altogether. But it wasn’t, an official excursion occasion like the CJ Cup limited box.
It is normal, of course, that the first open discussion about gambling on one occasion of the PGA Tour takes a position in a tournament in Las Vegas on a field built through casino owner Steve Wynn. You can enter almost every casino in Las Vegas, locate the sports eBook, and bet on who will win a PGA Tour occasion that week or even place bets between players for the day or week.
None of this is imaginable in California, of course, because the state continues to delay its feet in legalizing sports gambling in the state. Yes, there are several tactics around this for California residents, but you can’t access a sports eBook. or tribal casino and place a sports bet.
The PGA Tour completely follows the trend of sports gambling. The tour has agreements with Draft Kings, Fan Duel, PointsBet and BetMGM as partners. a bet on the spot. And now the officer arrives to communicate about the odds on the golf course, either to win the excursion tournament or to be the weak player in a couple on the same day.
It will only be a matter of time before the players of the tour are sponsored through other gaming companies. You can see big posters appearing the week of an excursion tournament, saying, “Hello, bet on me on BetMGM!”
Should we get involved in betting on the PGA Tour or any game so open and high?Sports obviously don’t think so. There was a time when gaming organizations refrained from talking about gambling and Las Vegas as the plague. Now the NFL has a team in Las Vegas, just like the WNBA. More and more games are approving gambling one way or another. supposedly every month.
And sports have worked hard so that there are protections opposed to the disorders that have made them flee the game before, disorders such as shaving problems and corrupt players or officials.
You may never bet on a sporting event of your life, perhaps at an annual lunch about who will win the big school rivalry game, but golfers are from another race. A golfer can probably think of a dozen more productive games in any facet of the sport. It may also be desirable to combine the 4 most productive professionals and make them play a Wolf TV game. This can also simply propel Las Vegas crazy books.
So take a look at the odds this week and do what you need with them, ignore them or find a way to put them into action, but don’t think this will be the last time the PGA Tour talks about probabilities in a program. it’s just the beginning.
