High-resolution music streaming service TIDAL has announced the addition of millions of new songs to the MQA format of the Warner Music Group catalog. The new tracks will be added to TIDAL’s Masters catalog that subscribers can now pay attention to, with iconic albums by artists such as The Notorious BIG, Missy Elliott, LCD Soundsystem, Madonna and many others.
MQA is a company run by Bob Stuart. This year, Stuart has become the first sound engineer to win the Prince Philip Award from the Royal Academy of Engineering for pioneering an entirely new way to encode virtual audio based on key data on how humans listen to sound. The key to generation is mqa’s built-in authentication, which confirms that the listener gets precisely the same sound as the one created in the recording studio when the track was originally recorded.
When analog sound is converted to virtual records, the procedure introduces temporary artifacts that can blur sounds abnormally. MQA seeks to solve those problems, and then the MQA decoder built into the TIDAL application converts the log to analog sound that, according to MQA, preserves the clarity of the music.
In a press release announcing the expansion of TIDAL’s Masters offering, Stuart explained: “By paying wonderful attention to the nature of the sound and how we listen, MQA opens a transparent window and provides all the main points and nuances of the original song. The music industry catalog comprises millions of significant performances from the early days of the CD where recording was sometimes created at 44. 1 kHz 16 bits and where there was no option. We are very pleased that Warner Music Group is bringing this content to TIDAL ».
“TIDAL Masters offers the available sound. As customers’ expectations of high-quality delights increase, TIDAL’s audio innovation sets the standard for listening to music,” says Lior Tibon, TIDAL’s Chief Operating Officer. “Not only can members listen to music exactly as their artists have recorded it, but with recent platform improvements, delight is more fluid than ever. “
In response to requests from subscribers to facilitate the attention paid and discovery of more Masters songs in MQA format, TIDAL has added the radio artist and radio track “Master Edition”. TIDAL members can now pay attention to radio stations in the most productive way to get quality with teacher-only songs. At the same time, TIDAL is adding the master edition of My New Arrivals, a personalized playlist of new music with full audio quality, based on subscribers’ attention habits.
Another merit of MQA is that it creates smaller audio files that use less bandwidth transmission. This allows high-resolution music to be fed even on cellular networks. The MQA generation combines and delivers incredible sound for music lovers, making MQA files available to listeners. on the fly, using any headset.
TIDAL recently introduced its new TIDAL Connect feature, which allows users of its HiFi subscription point to connect to devices from audio brands such as: Bluesound, Cambridge Audio, DALI, KEF, iFi audio, Lyngdorf, Monitor, NAD and Naim Audio. Connect, the platform’s lossless audio quality can be easily heard on the user’s favorite device at the touch of a button.
TIDAL has the largest outdoor MQA catalog in China. In addition, subscribers have unlimited access to a catalog containing more than 70 million titles in all music genres, as well as thousands of playlists organized through THE TIDAL’s editorial team.
