MCLEAN, Virginia – November 27, 2020 – USA TODAY High School Sports Network is launching a multi-month program of popularity for top school athletes in all 51 states, adding metropolitan dominance of DC and 78 regions across the country. The best-in-school sports awards program, the largest of its kind in the country, will conclude with a national awards rite in early August.
The USA TODAY High School Sports Awards, which will be televised and broadcast, will introduce state winners, announce the country’s 3 most sensitive, and then call the athlete of the year in the sport. Athlete of the year, the play of the year, the most productive male and female athlete in the country, and many other more sensible prizes for high school athletes.
Starting in December, each region and state will announce the winners and continue the year at the end of the games. With the support of sponsorship, all determined regional and state systems will result in on-demand programming with the most important professional names and highlighting the best performing student-athletes in the region. Regional programming will be broadcast from 17 June and will continue until 8 July. EDT on July 15.
