Shanghai Electric’s ESG MSCI score has been moved to BB, underlining its continued development at ESG

Shanghai Electric aims to develop its ESG strategy, which refers to environmental, social and corporate governance points to measure the sustainability of a company and the social effect on investment. Last year, the Company established an ESG control committee, prioritizing ESG measures in its overall strategy and integrating the committee into its corporate governance structure.

MSCI’s resolution to increase the ESG score from Shanghai Electric to BB reflects the company’s long-standing environmental coverage price and its commitment to renewable blank technologies. Given its participation in renewable energy, as well as in the energy garage and smart networks, the company is “well positioned to take credit for China’s resolve to bring blank and low-carbon energy to life as a component of its efforts to limit carbon emissions through 2030,” as noted in the MSCI Rating Report.
