(RTTNews) – After reporting a sharp increase in U. S. retail sales last month, Commerce released a report Tuesday that retail sales appeared to have increased less than expected in October.
The report that retail sales rose 0. 3% in October after jumping 1. 6% down in September.
Economists had expected retail sales to rise 0. 5% from the peak of 1. 9% first reported last month.
Excluding an increase in sales at motor vehicle and portion dealerships, retail sales increased by 0. 2% in October after rising by 1. 2% in September. Non-auto sales are expected to increase by 0. 6%.
