The executive director of the U. S. Chamber of Commerce, the tough corporate lobbying organization that has long supported Republican presidents, said President Donald Trump “shouldn’t delay the transition” to President-elect Joe Biden “for the time being. “
Chamber of Commerce leader Tom Donohue apparently called Biden an “president-elect” in a media release Axios. com urging Trump to allow federal officials to initiate the transition procedure to the former Democratic president.
“President-elect Biden and the team around him have a wealth of executive delights that allow them to get started,” Donohue told the news site.
Donohue also stated that “while the Trump administration would possibly continue to advocate verifying election results, in the interests of the protection and well-being of Americans, it will not delay the transition to another time. “
A spokeswoman for the Chamber of Commerce referred CNBC to Donohue’s comments on Axios when she requested comment.

Trump and his allies are fighting in several states that has triggered demands and demands for a recount in an effort to oppose Biden’s planned victory.
NBC News and other media outlets have projected that when the election is certified, Biden will have won 306 electoral school votes, 36 more than to win the White House.
Legal experts give Trump little or no reversing the effects of the poll on enough states to overturn Biden’s victory.
