STARKVILLE, Mississippi (AP) – Freshman Dontaie Allen scored 23 trouble, the most of her career, with seven 3s and Kentucky ended its six-game slide by beating Mississippi State 78-73 in a double on Saturday for the night.
Allen ended up shooting a 7 for beyond the arc and an 8 for 14 overall.
Olivier Sarr’s 3 at the start allowed the Wildcats to take the lead forever.
Iverson Molinar missed a disputed 3 on the buzzer to send it into a moment of overtime. The Wildcats missed 3 shots on their final property to force the first additional session.
Kentucky coach John Calipari sent off after receiving consecutive technical fouls with 9:04 left and the Wildcats trailing 5-2-46 after Molinar’s shot. Allen sank five of his 3 after Calipari’s expulsion.
Allen entered the contest after scoring just a couple of baskets in 20 minutes of action leading up to Saturday.
It is Kentucky’s first victory (2-6, 1-0 Southeastern Conference) since the season opened the day before Thanksgiving.
DJ. Stewart Jr. led the Bulldogs (6-4, 1-1) with 19 points.

Kentucky is now 10-2 in the first SEC Calipari game and 9-3 Calipari in the first SEC road game of the year. The Wildcats are now 68-19 in the SEC opening.
Kentucky is 15-0 against the Calipari Bulldogs, and Calipari is 16-0 in his career against Mississippi State.
