A COVID-19 checkpoint in a Sydney hot spot has been destroyed by vandals, police say.
The check in the Sydney suburb of Warriewood on the North Beaches has been vandalized 3 times in a week.
Staff arrived at the broken rain shelters and damaged glass on Sunday morning and returned on Monday.
“Every night there are damaged bottles and last night they destroyed the (state emergency services) tent,” local volunteer Dooley Ellis told radio station 2GB.
“It is unbearable”.

The checkpoint on Pittwater Road is in the northern domain of the Northern Beaches Local Government Zone, a network that includes the suburb of Avalon, which is in the midst of an existing COVID-19 outbreak of more than 140 cases.
Stay-at-home orders are in position for the region, meaning that citizens can only leave the space for reasons like exercise. Outdoor meetings are limited to five people.
Also, no one is allowed to enter existing sanitary rules in the domain.
The police have opened an investigation into the incidents.
“The police will stay this morning to conduct investigations,” a police spokesman said on Monday.
