FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA – If you have pickleball fever, you are not in Fairfax County.
While the county sees many pickleball service requests in parks, the Fairfax County Parks Authority is conducting a feasibility test that will determine how the park authority can handle pickleball applications, identify sites for existing courts or parks for new amenities, and expand implementation criteria and design rules for variety of sites and feasibility analysis.
The review began in the summer of 2019 and will be completed in the spring of 2021. According to the review schedule, studies and stakeholder assemblies were conducted in the fall of 2020. A public survey is open until January 24 and will be followed by a public assembly and review of the plan in the spring.
The work to create pickleball services has already been visible. The park’s authority has renovated existing tennis and multi-purpose courts to allow various sports such as pickleball. There are approximately 30 outdoor courts in the county that can accommodate pickleball. climb pickleball box spaces through scratching gyms.
