RICHMOND, Virginia (AP) – Six casino developers have submitted proposals to the city of Richmond to be the candidate for a casino.
The Richmond Times-Dispatch reported Wednesday that the state capital is one of five cities where Virginia will allow legal casino gambling.
Richmond City Council will eventually become a dear operator and then move on to the electorate in a referendum in November.
One of the last contenders is Houston-based Golden Nugget, who filed an application to build a $400 million casino at a location in the city he has still revealed.
Another candidate is Wind Creek Hospitality. La a gambling company that owns the Poarch Band of Creek Indians of Alabama. He proposed a $541 million casino complex in South Richmond.
The Virginia-based Pamunkey Indian Tribe, which is the federal gaming rights tribe in the state, has also proposed a casino for South Richmond.
Other proposed casino assignments come with a partnership between Urban One and Peninsula Pacific Entertainment. This assignment would involve philip Morris USA assets in South Richmond.
The Cordish Companies submitted a proposal for a 17-acre asset near Scott’s Addition. The venue lately houses the Movieland. Et Bally Cinema Complex wants to open a casino on a 61-acre in the city.
