The first feature film by Anglo-Nigerian director Joseph Adesunloye, made in 2016 but recently released now, is the story of a London photographer who travels to Senegal for his father’s funeral. It’s a drifting film, not a hit that’s still based on the undeniable presence. on the screen of the boxer-turned-model dudley O’Shaughnessy (he was in the last season of Top Boy; at the time of modeling, he gave the impression that he was against Rihanna in the We Found Love video. )

Here he plays Leke, a dream-living fashion photographer in Hackney; The space is a loft-style apartment with city views and Leke is about to open a giant living room in China. The film begins with some gallery scenes of false feelings, all from head to toe dressed in black and kissing in the air with extravagant mwah-mwahs (this is the global art recognizable in other videos survival in real life). Despite his success, Leke is indifferent to his life in London. He also ignores phone messages from Senegal, where his father is seriously ill. When the inevitable call arrives – his father is dead – Leke flies to Dakar. A circle of family friends arranged for a taxi to be their guide. “What are you talking about?Leke denies with his head. ” My friend, ” said the boy. “You’re lost. You’re lost in Array.

Leke leaves, out the taxi window. But Dakar is turning it on; photograph everything around him and start seeing the charming Badenewa (Yrsa Daley-Ward). He then reluctantly embarks on the adventure to his father’s village. Someone alludes to a breakdown of the circle of relatives that is never explained – and the script continues in the same line, without revealing anything about Leke, his years of formation or his sense of identity. This unhook is frustrating. But O’Shaughnessy (3 portions of arrogance, two portions of tenderness) draws him well. It’s a ability to look.
