JYP Entertainment apologizes for the clothes on the cover of Dahyun and Chaeyoung of TWICE’s “Switch To Me”

JYP Entertainment has issued an official apology for Melody Project’s new video of TWICE, Dahyun and Chaeyoung.

On February 10, Dahyun and Chaeyoung released a parody of Rain and Park Jin Young’s “Switch to Me” for their new Melody Project video. Soon after, a BLACKPINK stylist posted a screenshot of the video on his Instagram account and wrote, “Hey ??!! An outfit that I created to measure, but what did I make ??!!»

The message led to the hypothesis that the stylist referred to the similarities between the hanbok (traditional Korean clothing) used in the video and the hanbok she had custom designed for BLACKPINK’s music video “How You Like That”.

On February 11, JYP Entertainment issued the following statement:

Hi, I’m JYP Entertainment.

With regard to the outfits in melody Project video through Dahyun and Chaeyoung, the hanbok in question was purchased from a hanbok company, and we did not recognize the similarities very well. We sincerely apologize.

We have given an explanation of the scenario and our sincere apologies to the designer, and we will be even more careful in the long run so that such incidents do not recur.
