As many states began expanding the availability of their vaccines this month, Mohawk Industries executives promptly got to work to identify how the company can simply attach paintings to those resources.
In northwest Georgia, home to most of Flooring North America’s Flooring North America segment of flooring north america, Mohawk was able to identify a direct partnership with the national and local government and public fitness officials to host on-site immunization events.
In more than a week, Mohawk has vaccinated more than 1,200 team members and already has more than 2,000 members, with other occasions planned in the coming days.
“It’s the kind of thing that really shows what’s vital to a company and its culture,” said Rod Wedemeier, senior vice president of human resources at Mohawk Industries. “I am very proud of the effect this will have on Mohawk and netpainting where together we make life and paintings safer. “
Several network partners, such as the Latin American Association and the City of Dalton, have played a role in these efforts.
“Annalee Harlan, a member of the City Council, was a driving force and personally participated in each and every Mohawk occasion to realize this vision,” Wedemeier said. “They have made an effort to serve Mohawk and the entire flooring industry here.
In addition to these partners, the broker organization and on-site jumping organizations made up of Mohawk team members have developed a procedure for those occasions on site to ensure that each and every Mohawk worker in northwest Georgia who wish to become vaccinated will have the opportunity to do so in the coming weeks.
Mohawk Flooring North America President Paul De Cock won his first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine on one occasion at the mall facility.
“There was a lot of positivity and optimism as other people went through the process,” De Cock said. “It was incredibly well organized and everyone involved obviously proud of the paintings they were doing to make this happen for our staff. example of how we do more with Mohawk: we care more about Mohawk. “
Leading on-site coordination, Micah Riggle, senior director of the human resources chain, also said the joy had been humiliating.
“The way others have combined here and within the leadership of our network to do everything possible to deliver vaccines to our workers in a practical and safe way has been incredible,” Riggle said. “A guy asked us if he could just empty himself so he could send it to his daughter, to let him know he was going to be protected so they could celebrate. Being a component of this, and having the full help and commitment of Mohawk us actually renews its proud of what it does and for whom it works. »
Another employee, Holly Anne DiDia, whose graduation, wedding and honeymoon plans for 2020 were interrupted by the pandemic, shared her appreciation on the occasion on the Calhoun campus.
“I was surprised at how moved I was when I won the vaccine,” DiDia said. “In the domain of waiting afterwards, I took a moment to reflect on the effect of COVID on me and all of us over the following year. “, and this reflected image has led me to feel positive and grateful that, in spite of everything, we can take a step forward to vaccinate other people.
“We are proud to be part of this community,” Wedemeier said. “And we’re proud to do whatever it takes to make it safer for all of us. “
