2021 Champions League results: more sensitive scorers, odds after the semi-final results of the first leg

Manchester City demonstrated their skill with a 2–1 win over Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final.

There is still a lot of drama to live in European competition, after Chelsea and Real Madrid finished their first leg in a 1–1 draw on Tuesday.

Manchester City was the favorite to win the name in the week after dominating this festival and the Premier League so far from 2020-21. Wednesday’s result only strengthened the team’s position in the last chances of winning the name, DraftKings.

PSG is obviously still a formidable team thanks to its squad’s offensive ability, adding two players to the most sensitive Champions League goalscorers this year. However, they all continue to pursue Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland for the leadership of the tournament.

Borussia Dortmund from Haaland were eliminated in the quarter-finals, but their production in the first rounds can make it difficult to get up to date.

Kylian Mbappé and Neymar will still have the opportunity to climb more goals to their résumées with at least one more match and in all likelihood two if Paris Saint-Germain qualifies for the final.

The way forward can be complicated despite Marquinhos’ initial purpose in a corner of Angel Di Maria:

It was Marquinhos’ third purpose in nine UCL matches this year, he knows how to deal with the big moments:

2 – PSG Marquinhos’s mid-centre is the third player in @ChampionsLeague history to score in the quarter-finals and semi-finals in consecutive seasons, after Cristiano Ronaldo (2011-12, 2012-13, 2013-14) and Antoine Griezmann (2015-16, 2016-17), scarcity, #UCL https://t. co/LIn7u5vM8E

Manchester City seemed to have problems in the first half with PSG creating maximum opportunities, but the English club showed what they can do in the second.

Kevin De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez scored each in seven minutes with balls perfectly placed from outside the area:

De Bruyne probably would have been making plans for a centre, but that counted as an indispensable draw for Manchester City before Mahrez put his club in the most sensible in the 71st minute.

He also showed the intensity of Manchester City, which has goals of 12 other players at this festival but none with more than 4 goals.

After Idrissa Gueye’s expulsion with a red card in the 77th minute, Manchester City controlled for a simple victory and great merit in the two-man war with two home goals.

In the first semi-final, Karim Benzema climbs the scorers list thanks to a volley for Real Madrid:

This came after American Christian Pulisic entered Chelsea’s adjustment sheet with a quiet finish in front of the goal:

Both clubs have played well enough to win, however, either group will qualify for the round trip stage in search of more attack to advance. Chelsea’s away purpose will help, it may not be enough to secure a position in the final.

Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain will conclude their draw next Tuesday, while Chelsea will receive Real Madrid on Wednesday.
