As on many occasions returning this summer, the Reno River Festival will have some adjustments this year, there will be no river kayaking competition.
The river festival will continue as a birthday party around the Truckee River stretch in downtown Reno, but will not come with rainy and wild river kayaking races as a measure of crowds.
“As a general rule, other people gather in giant crowds on the rocks along the river to see the competitions, and to comply with COVID-19 regulations, we want the crowd to be longer,” said Katie Heuberger, spokesperson for the Festival.

Competitions also do not take place because the festival takes place on Mother’s Day weekend, when the river is at its peak. This year, the festival will take place about a month after the peak ends, Heuberger said, noting that the drought also forced the cancellation of competitions in 2015.
However, the festival will feature craft beer, food, vendors and music at Wingfield Park from June 12-13.
For the first time in the festival’s 17-year history, admission will require ticketing. General admission tickets charge $15 according to the day, with other activities such as craft beer tours and a stopover on the hard seltzer with an additional charge, between $30. and an additional $50 depending on the day. Tickets deserve help to make sure the occasion isn’t crowded, organizers said.
Participants can also purchase $249 tickets for a personal table at MusicFest, two days of live music on site. The details of the scriptures have been published.
“Craft sellers, food trucks, artists and anyone who sometimes makes a living have been affected by the pandemic,” says Jess Horning, co-owner and co-founder of Liquid Blue Events, which organizes the Festival. The festival is a possibility for the network to pass out and the local population. “
COVID-19 restrictions will be in place at the festival, adding mask and social distance needs. These restrictions are subject to repositioning under washoe County’s most recent pandemic measures. For up-to-date information, RenoRiverFestival. com.
