The contest will take place from 28 April to 7 May, with brave contestants, regardless of gender, encouraged to send a symbol to the website, along with a commentary on what makes them a true Scot.
Nominations will be preselected before Scotland’s potential saviors are put to a public vote on 10 May. Voting will take place for one week until May 16 before the winner is announced.
However, this winner William, or Wilhelmina, will not gain Independence from Scotland for their problems, will be invited to Edinburgh and rewarded with two dungeon tickets and their famous walking tour, one night from two to 4 stars. Breakfast included and dinner for two at Edinburgh’s Hard Rock Café.
Kathryn Angel, executive director of Edinburgh Dungeons, said: “We look forward to welcoming visitors underground into our famous dungeons. The last twelve months have been difficult for everyone, and we know that the user in Scottish history to remove us from the Covid restrictions and towards freedom is the iconic William Wallace.
“So let’s see which of our bravest Scots looks the most like our freedom fighter’s character. Let the war begin!
Edinburgh’s dungeons will reopen on 1 May, where visitors can revel and breathe the darkest story Edinburgh has to offer.
