At least eight other people were killed in a night shooting at a FedEx facility in the US city of Indianapolis through an armed man who then committed suicide, police said.
Several others were injured Thursday night when gunfire broke out at facilities near Indianapolis International Airport, police spokesman Genae Cook said.
At least five others were hospitalized, and one user was seriously injured, the Associated Press reported. Two other people were treated and released on site, Cook said.
The gunman did not promptly meet and investigators were still conducting interviews and gathering information.
Cook said it was too early to tell if the shooter was an installation worker.
Police were called to report the shooting shortly after 11 p. m. and officials observed an active shooting scene, Cook said.

“We are aware of the tragic shooting at our FedEx Ground facility near Indianapolis airport. Safety is our most sensible priority and our minds are with everyone involved,” he said.
Family members gathered at a hotel to wait for news from their loved ones.
Some said painters can take their phones with them when they paint shifts on the premises, making it difficult for them to play them, WTHR-TV reported.
A witness, who worked at the facility, told WISH-TV that he saw a guy with a gun after hearing several gunshots.
“I saw a guy with some kind of gun, an automatic rifle and shooting outside,” Jeremiah Miller said.
Another man told WTTV that her niece was sitting in the driver’s seat of her car when the gunfire broke out and she was injured.
“She hit her left arm, ” said Parminder Singh. “All right, he’s in the hospital now. “
American Congressman Andre Carson, an Indiana representative, wrote on Twitter: “I’m sorry about the mass shooting at the FedEx facility here in Indianapolis and I pray for everyone affected by this tragedy.

A video showed a gang of policemen at the site of the incident, which follows several mass shootings in recent weeks.
Last month, four people, in addition to a child, were shot dead in a Building in Southern California.
On March 22, 10 other people were killed in a shootout at a grocery store in Boulder, Colorado.
He arrived here less than a week after a man shot and killed eight people, six Asian women, at spas in Atlanta, Georgia.
Nearly 40,000 other people in the United States die each year from firearms, more of which are suicides.
