This year’s Oscar nominees have been informed that appearing through Zoom would be an option.
In a letter to the nominees, the show’s manufacturers said they had taken “a lot of trouble to give them a fun night for everyone. “
The rite will break ranks with this year’s Golden Globes and Emmys, where the winners accepted their Zoom Awards as a component of covid-19 security measures.
The 93 Academy Awards are scheduled for April 25 in Los Angeles.
The letter, published through Deadline of american show business, defined the vision of the awards from manufacturers Steven Soderbergh, Stacey Sher and Jesse Collins.
“For those of you who can’t attend because of the schedule or the ongoing hassle of the trip, we need you to know that first there will be no zoom option for the show,” he said.
“We strive to provide a safe and fun night for all of you in person, as well as millions of viewers around the world, and we believe that the virtual will lessen those efforts. “
They claimed that the occasion would come with Covid-19 security groups at the site with verification capability.
“There will be express orders for those coming from outside Los Angeles, and other orders for those already founded in Los Angeles,” the letter says. “All this will come directly from the Academy to make sure you spend a safe and worry-free night (a look to the future?) “
Producers also asked nominees not to dress informally – some other break with awards like the Golden Globes where some winners gave the impression of a very casual outfit.
“Our goal is a fusion of inspiration and aspiration, which means that the formal is absolutely great if you need to go, but that the informal literally isn’t,” you read in the letter.
The Academy itself, the framework overseeing the Oscars, has promised an “intimate” rite performed with the strict precautions of Covid-19.
The paintings will be located at the Dolby Theatre, the ceremony house, and at Los Angeles’ main railroad center, Union Station.
According to Deadline, the Academy will hold a 90-minute rally before the Union Station Courtyard exhibition for nominees and their guests.
