The first hundred days of a US president’s term of office, the first hundred days of a US president’s office, the united States and the United States, have been able to do so. But it’s not the first time They mark the progress and promises of a young administration. Much can be completed during the first hundred days of a president, so experts use it to inform each administration’s point of activity. .
Instead of the first hundred days in terms of productivity or promises, let’s take a look at another feature: honesty. It is vital to hold leaders accountable for the truth, especially at the beginning of their presidency.
The Washington Post suggests that President Donald Trump made 30,573 false or misleading statements over four years. Based on this number, he’s obviously a prolific liar.
But were your lies observable in the first hundred days?More importantly, how does President Trump compare to other leaders like President Biden and President Obama?
I collected knowledge from PolitiFact, a non-profit organization that verifies the facts of politicians and other personalities. PolitiFact has consistent criteria among politicians that they find out the facts and will only read about statements that are verifiable, make a false impression, are vital to the public, are more likely to be shared and questioned through others. PolitiFact classifies declarations into one of six groups:
(1) True, (2) Rather true, (3) True reason, (4) Rather false, (5) False and (6) Pants on fire.
For simplicity, I grouped all statements into two teams (true or false). True and basically false party categories were excluded because they have combined evidence (partially true or partially false statements).
In his first hundred days, President Trump evaluated 29 statements through PolitiFact (17 false) against 12 statements through President Obama (1 false) and four statements through President Biden (2 false). In short, Trump has told more lies than Biden. and Obama combined.
We can also this knowledge as a consistent percentage of all factual statements consistent with the president, for every 100 days consistent with the period.
But President Trump has made more false statements than President Biden and President Obama in their first hundred days. President Obama has been the top president just in the first hundred days compared to Presidents Biden and Trump.
President Biden’s rate of deception may still appear high, but the number of verified statements is low (4). Biden’s statements may be low because many statements did not meet PolitiFact’s fact-checking criteria.
In other words, President Biden may simply be an un controversial speaker.
Finally, what did the president lie about in his first hundred days as president?Biden’s misrepresentations discussed the minimum wage and immigration patterns in the United States. Trump, on the other hand, falsely discussed homicide rates in the United States, immigration and refugees. and the fact that he didn’t know Steve Bannon before his presidential campaign. Finally, Obama’s misrepresentation involved trends in math education in the United States.
These effects would possibly not be surprising. Politicians lie for a reason, yet it is clear that some presidents show an early taste for deception more than others.
At the time of writing, President Trump was a more deceptive president than President Biden or President Obama in his first hundred days.

I am an assistant professor at the University of Oregon and read how words reveal social and mental data about other people. I focus on how other people lie and tell the fact in other contexts, using language as a lens in the psychology of deceivers. My paintings also examine how social media reports and interpersonal technologies can count a variety of mental processes, from our ability to paint out of self-control with cell phones, to our ability to be told about climate replacement with reality. virtual immersive. I finished my PhD at Stanford University and my master’s and bachelor’s degree at Cornell University. My paintings have been published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Journal of Communication and a lot of other social science media.
