EBD puts 3 of the safest Greek beaches in Europe for the summer of 2021

The European Best Destinations Organization (EBD) has included 3 Greek beaches in its list of beaches in Europe for the summer of 2021.

The list includes a total of thirteen beaches in Mediterranean destinations such as Greece, Portugal, Spain and Cyprus, which were decided on the basis of criteria such as the low number of covid-19 instances and sanitary measures taken through local authorities.

The Greek beach of Egremni, on the island of Lefkada, ranks fifth on the list; Preveza Beach, and specifically Monolithi, in western Greece is in the tenth position, while Halikounas Beach in Corfu is ranked 13th.

Egremni Beach has been chosen through the EBD for its turquoise waters, fine white sand and cliffs that flow into the sea.

Egremni has been an inaccessible beach, as there is no road leading to it, in addition, the beach has no bars or restaurants on site.

The EBD also allows travelers to walk from Egremni to Porto Katsiki, a beach near the foot of a pale concave cliff.

Porto Katiski means “to carry goats” in Greek, because before only goats could succeed in this domain.

“This beach has been listed among the beaches with the bluest waters in the world . . . enough to make you the closures, curfews and stressful news of the last few months,” the organization says.

Monolithi Beach, the main beach of Préveza, is 22 km long and up to meters wide, this beach is the longest in Europe.

In addition to Monolithi, Preveza offers many other beaches.

“Known for its fair price for its money, Préveza is the anti-St Tropez: the prices of hotels, restaurants and cafes are affordable and this summer the sun loungers are even loose (and clean among travelers),” says the EBD.

Blessed by the gods, Corfu is one of the greenest Greek islands, with flora and fauna.

Halikounas Beach is one of the maximum beaches of this island popular with nature lovers.

Wild and with a total duration of 3 kilometers, Halikounas beach is the best option to respect social distances this summer.

The EBD has decided destinations without mandatory quarantine on arrival (if there is evidence of a negative test) that also recognize the vaccination passport.

It has included the following beaches in its list:
