New Jersey heavy steel pays homage to some of its own this weekend.
Marsha Zazula, who co-discovered the likes of Metallica and Anthrax, will be held at the Bash Five Bulldozer at 2pm on Saturday at Old Bridge Elks Lodge.
Organized through the Old Bridge Metal Militia Charitable Foundation, Bulldozer Bash Five will honor the life and legacy of Zazula, who co-founded Central Jersey Megaforce Records and Crazed Management with her husband Jonny at their Old Bridge home, as the Rock N’ Roll Heaven Record Store in the former Route 18 indoor market , Array in east Brunswick.
Marsha Zazula died in January at the age of after a war with cancer.
Metallica singer and guitarist James Hetfield, in a post after Zazula’s death, dubbed her “the east coast metal matriarch”.

Featuring music by Kathouse, Headmotor and Boneyard, as well as a gift auction in the presence of the Metal Hall of Fame, Bulldozer Bash Five will also celebrate Bob “Bullldozer” Szuminsky, a member of the Metal Militia scene and metallica’s roadie who died in 1996.
