Joe Dubin, a three-time Emmy Award-winning television personality who established himself as a sports anchor more than a decade ago on WKRN-2 before fitting in to one of Nashville’s most recognized reporters on WSMV-4, is leaving to sign up on Main Street. Media.
Dubin’s last day on Channel Four was Wednesday. On Channel Four, he carried the nickname “Big Joe on the Go” and produced original stories on topics such as nervousness, cow milking, hot yoga and more.
“In fact, I was proud of the paintings we did on Channel Four over the past six years : lots of positive stories and netpaintings,” said Dubin, who arrived at the station in 2015. “And I was proud of what we did. Dubin had 20 Emmy nominations in his time on Channels 2 and 4 and won in 2011, 2017 and 2019.
Channel Four is one of 17 local television stations in the country owned by Meredith Corp, which were purchased in May through Gray Television.
Dubin, who also hosted a radio show about local sports from 2011 to 2019, has been writing a column for Main Street Media in recent months. He will continue this in his new role while continuing with his “Big Joe on the Go” feature, which will be shared on social media.
Dubin will launch a podcast for Main Street Media.
