Emily Stegner joined Skinner in 2021 as a European specialist in furniture and ornamental arts, focusing on fine silver. It is dedicated to cataloguing, researching and marketing a wide variety of articles for the European department. Prior to joining Skinner, Emily worked in Sicily as a Discovery Specialist for American excavations at Morgantina: Project Contrada Agnese. He also had the thrill of cataloguing historic Beverly’s archaeological collection to be usable for research. Beyond archaeological work, Emily has held positions at several museums in Massachusetts, adding the Peabody Essex Museum, Worcester Art Museum and Museum of Russian Icons.
Emily holds a bachelor’s degree from Kenyon College in Classics and English and a master’s degree in Museum Studies from the Institute of Archaeology at University College London. Studying elements to reveal stories about other people from beyond highlights much of his paintings so far. His specific spaces of interest come with Greek and Roman archaeology, Russian icons and folk art, and interpretation of curtain culture in general. She likes to travel to observe other people and their culture from the source. When she can’t travel, Emily discovers that books are the most productive thing to do.
