EVERTON has shown that paintings on its new 53,000-seat stadium will begin on July 26.
The Toffees plan to say a poignant farewell to Goodison Park at the end of the 2023-24 campaign.
Today they demonstrated that they will take possession of their new Bramley-Moore pier later this month, on July 26.
And they also revealed that the first phase of structuring the land will begin the same day.
Laing O’Rourke contractors will begin preparing the pier for construction, while repairing and preserving the Grade II indexed pier wall.
Everton showed that once the preparation is over, Laing O’Rourke “will start the dike filling procedure”.
Speaking to the club’s official online website about the plans, chairman Bill Kenwright said: “We are very pleased to be able to verify that the structural paintings in our new stadium will begin later this month.
“This will be a day in the history of the club and testifies to the ambition and monetary commitment of Farhad (Moshiri) and the determination and skill of Denise (Barrett-Baxendale) and her control team at the club.
“As each and every Evertonian Goodison Park has been a vital component of my life, however, moving forward, we could not have discovered a more suitable or excellent site for our new stadium, one that will honour our history and celebrate our beautiful future. “
Everton chief executive Barrett-Baxendale added: “This moment will be one of the greatest in the club’s history as it symbolises a new era for Evertonians, an era in which our supporters, their youngsters and the youngsters of their youngsters will support their team in one of the most beautiful stadiums in world football.
“This assignment presents such an exciting long term for our club and is a transparent demonstration of our owner’s commitment and ambition.
“I would like to thank each and every one of those who have helped us succeed at this point, my colleagues who have made sure that this task met the schedule despite the sensitive cases presented through the pandemic, business leaders and politicians, the other people of the city and , of course, ours who have given us their unwavering at each and every level of this task.
“I must also thank Laing O’Rourke and look forward to running with them and seeing our wonderful designs as a truth for years to come. “
Everton expects its new launch to provide a billion pounds in seasoning for the local economy as well as 15,000 jobs.
They also estimate that the Bramley-Moore Dock stadium can attract 1. 4 million tourists to the city.
