IFPI, the organization that represents the recorded music industry worldwide, and its Brazilian national group, Pro-Música Brasil, have revealed a number of recent and successful movements that oppose the manipulation of streaming operating in the country.
The manipulation of the transmission comes to create synthetic “games” in the transmission of virtual music that do not constitute a true listening.
This new action follows the announcement of 14 sites forced to prevent the provision of “false information” in Brazil in October last year.
In August 2020, “false flow” sites were also forced to stop their activities by a court order in Germany.
Already, more than 65 transmission manipulations have been affected by the recent movements of the music industry in Brazil, adding 10 sites that have closed and 20 sites that have stopped providing “fake feed” Array
Another 35 music streaming manipulation lists have been removed from the online market Mercado Book.
The announced effects are the result of an ongoing collaboration between IFPI, the Brazilian Association for the Protection of Phonographic Intellectual Rights (APDIF), Pro-Música Brasil and Cyber Gaeco, the cybercrime unit of the Public Ministry of São Paulo.
“Streaming manipulation has no place in music; we continue to deal with it globally.
