NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) — On Friday, the first sold-out crowd of the year at Bridgestone Arena for Luke Bryan’s concert, Bryan is performing after the arena announced it would adhere to CDC rules recommending that other people wear masks indoors.

Hours before Luke Bryan took the stage, a line of enthusiasts entered the bridgestone arena to see the country music icon.

Matthew Fulton and Victoria Pope arrived from Virginia. Although Bridgestone now recommends that other people wear masks indoors to comply with CDC guidelines, they will not participate.

“If there are other people next to me who feel uncomfortable and want me to wear one, then I wear one,” Pope says.

“It’s hot, there’s going to be a lot of people,” Fulton says. I just need to be able to breathe, you know?”

Brian Todd of metro Nashville’s Department of Public Health said Luke Bryan wouldn’t be the only occasion in Bridgestone on Friday. There will also be a pop-up window for vaccinations in bridgestone arena plaza.

“We hope other people don’t be in too much of a hurry to sit down,” Todd says. “And if they haven’t been vaccinated, they say, ‘hey, I’m on the way to getting it. ‘”

Pfizer and Johnson vaccines

“We know we’re not going to have thousands more people through this,” Henry says. “But we have about 10 more people a day and another 10 people a day getting vaccinated, it’s better for all of us, so that’s what we need to do. “

While some may get vaccinated on Friday, Pope says it’s not necessary.

“I’ve had COVID before, so I feel smart and I’m excited to get back to normal,” Pope said.

On the contextual vaccination site, other people can get their first vaccine and if they have their vaccination record, they can also get their dose for now.
