A festival celebrating the historic 1990s stone roses concert came to the band’s original 30 years ago.
Held on the Pentecost holiday in 1990 on a largely unused synthetic island in the Mersey Estuary in Widnes, The Stone Roses on Spike Island is one of the most outstanding concerts the UK has ever seen.
Now Spike Island: The Resurrection is a one-day festival that will reopen the original to music enthusiasts for the first time since that historic day.

It will take a stand on Saturday, July 24.
With a name explained through The Clone Roses, the UK’s number one tribute to The Stone Roses, this music holiday aims to recapture the images, sounds and environment of what is considered one of the greatest of all time.
The occasion will also see performances by other notable tribute acts, such as Oas-is, The Smiths Ltd, Happy Mondaze, The James Experience and True Order; as several original faces of the iconic Madchester scene, adding Clint Boon (Inspiral Carpets), Bez (Happy Mondays), Andy (808 State) and MC Tunes (Dust Junkys).
Becoming a complete story, Spike Island: The Resurrection will be the only live show to have taken a position at the Widnes since Stone Roses made headlines in 1990. The occasion is also set to surpass some successes. records as the largest tribute-themed festival. the global has never seen.

Demand for the occasion is high, with 85% of tickets already sold and more than 5,000 tickets for the first day alone.

With the festival fully authorized and the celebrations giving the green hue prior to this year, Halton Borough Cllr Rob Polhill introduced his own and said, “I’m degentleed that 30 years after Stone Roses played on Spike Island, a recreation of this concert with the tribute The Clone Roses will take position on this site. . .
“This mythical concert is still tenderly evoked all those years later and we know, thanks to the many requests for data we have had over the years, that many other people sought to see it repeated.
“Our park on Spike Island is ideal for these types of occasions and our agents will work hard with Lightbulb Festivals Ltd to ensure we host a success and an occasion for fans. “
Speaking of Spike Island: The Resurrection, Baggy, the bassist of The Clone Roses said: “The prospect of betting on exactly the same thing that The Stone Roses played their now mythical display is almost amazing.
“Having grown up a few kilometres from the original site in the Mersey Estuary, we all knew the stories of today. I admit I was a little too young to attend that day, but if you know what other people are saying here, it turns out there were over 330,000 instead of 30,000.
“We look forward to giving veterans a nostalgic adventure into the afterlife, as well as a chance for young Roses enthusiasts to revel in some of the magic of that day more than 30 years ago. “
