The citizens of Edinburgh were challenged in the grey sky and drizzled on Saturday as they headed to the Film Festival in the Forth.

A few showers weren’t enough to discourage moviegoers, who sat comfortably in their iconic living room chairs to watch old movies.

Over the weekend, the Port Edgar marina hosts the festival, which saw a massive screen installed under the Forth Road bridge.

As if the environment wasn’t enough, the screen is also tilted to offer amazing perspectives of the railway bridge and beyond.

Speaking on social media Saturday morning, the navy said the occasion had “begun” with the screening of the Disney musical Moana.

With all the free screenings, the occasion invited all ages to come and notice the atmosphere, with films such as The Horse of Water and The Illusionist yet to be screened.

You can also enjoy a number of food and drinks on site, with iconic Queensferry restaurants like Scott’s and Down the Hatch just around the corner.

Until the end of August 1, you can still book electronic tickets for the remaining screenings, which take place in partnership with the Edinburgh Film Festival.
