According to the Center for Biological Diversity, thousands of seabirds and sea turtles, seals and other marine mammals die a year after being ingested or entangled in plastic. Endangered wildlife species like the Hawaiian monk seal and pacific loggerhead turtle are among more than 700 species to feed on and get stuck in plastic waste.
