LAS VEGAS (AP) — The casino company that owns the former Las Vegas Strip concert hall, which in 2017 became the site of the deadliest mass shooting in U. S. fashion history, said Monday it donated a component of the assets to a permanent monument.
MGM Resorts International called the creation of a facility commemorating the “victims and heroes of October 1” important to the community’s continued recovery, and promised to continue operating with a commemorative design sign.
The news of the donation comes as the committee has asked the public to submit online reviews by Aug. 15 about the monument’s appearance.
More than 65% of the roughly 6,000 responses gained a two-week era in March felt it was incredible or very vital to have the monument on the site across Las Vegas Boulevard from the Mandalay Bay complex.

The monument will separate from the Community Healing Garden in downtown Las Vegas that was created after the shooting.
