Jacob’s attorney “QAnon Shaman” Chansley said his consumer has a charm for former President Donald Trump for that of a first love.
Al Watkins made the claim at a press convention after Chansley pleaded guilty Friday in federal court to obstruction of justice for his role in the Jan. 6 uprising.
“He had a penchant for Trump that is reminiscent of the first love a man can have for a woguy, or a woguy for a man, or a man for a man,” Watkins said.
“First love always, always, helps keep a tender and sweet spot in the center of the lover. “
With his roaring voice, Viking horns, fur headdress and a tattooed, shirtless body, Chansley is the best known of the thousands of insurgents who stormed the U. S. Capitol to protest the effects of the 2020 presidential election.
Since his arrest shortly after the riots, he has been held without bail.
Watkins also argued that Chansley had experienced intellectual aptitude issues and had been “seduced” by Trump.
“Today, Jake took a monumental step toward our nation’s success,” Watkins said at Friday’s news conference.
Speaking about “lovers” on CNN, host Jim Acosta asked, “We can’t blame all of this on love, right? What a strange comment.
“It’s unhappy that other people who believed in Donald Trump now pay a very private cost, as they should,” responded former Republican Congresswoman Barbara Comstock.
“These were movements of criminals on January 6. “
Through his lawyer, Chansley attempted to distance himself from QAnon’s conspiracy theory, which Trump supporters were sent to avoid a clique of pedophiles and infamous Democratic cannibals.
Prior to last week’s guilty plea, Watkins claimed his consumer had “repudiated” the Q movement. He asked that he no longer be called the shaman QAnon.
Federal prosecutors are expected to seek a sentence of 44 months to a maximum of five years when Chansley is convicted.
Mr Watkins warned that he would argue that his consumer would be released in time.
“At his core and in his mind, he helped the president save the country,” Watkins said.
“Jacob Chansley had no plan . . . he was partially naked, tattooed, one winter day in Washington. Certainly, I had the most productive suit of the day, I had the most productive look. “
Psychological tests while in criminal showed that Chansley suffered from brief schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression and anxiety.
He considered having mental compatibility to face the fees in court.
