Former Trump adviser and Gettr executive director Jason Miller, detained for 3 hours in Brazil on Tuesday as he left the country after speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference and assembly with President Jair Bolsonaro.
Miller about to board a personal jet at Brasilia International Airport Tuesday morning when federal police arrested and questioned him as part of an investigation into the organizers of “undemocratic acts. “
“This afternoon, my organization was interrogated for 3 hours at the Brasilia airport, after attending this weekend’s CPAC Brazil conference,” Miller said in a statement. “We weren’t charged with any crime and just said they ‘wanted to talk. ‘”
“We informed them that we had nothing to say and we were released to return to the United States. Our purpose of sharing freedom of expression around the world continues. “
I look forward to joining an impressive list of speakers who combine to talk about free speech, social media and, of course, #GETTR!Https: //t. co/oGyPaxghCW

Trump is said to have Jr. no traveled to Brazil, but gave a live video address.
According to Brazilian news site Metropoles, Miller’s arrest was ordered through Minister Alexandre de Moraes, who is conducting an investigation for the country’s Supreme Court.
Bolsonaro’s enemies claim that a coup is being prepared on January 6 to remain in power. Miller was apparently questioned about this claim, allegedly not directly charged with any involvement. Authorities would like Miller to testify in their investigation of Bolsonaro.

He also traveled to Brazil to announce his new conservative social media platform, Gettr. According to the Daily Mail, Miller was scheduled to meet with President Jair Bolsonaro, parliamentarian Eduardo Bolsonaro and former Foreign Minister Ernesto Araujo to urge them to register on the platform.
“The fact that lately we have more than a quarter of a million Brazilians registered is not trivial,” Miller said. “We, this is a market of strong expansion for us, especially with the 2022 elections. “
“With all that power and activity, we believe it’s the best position for us to come in and grow even more,” he said.
The upcoming elections are making the whole country nervous and Bolsonaro is lagging behind in the polls through former left-wing leader Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
Mass protests are taking place in some of Brazil’s largest cities and arrests like Miller’s may be much more common as paranoia sets in ahead of the election.
Bolsonaro has been hailed by tens of thousands of people in the capital, Brasilia.
Last week, he told his supporters: “The time has come to reclaim our independence forever, to say that we will not allow other people in Brasilia to impose their will on us. “
“The will that is yours,” he added.
“Some other people in Brasilia,” an obvious reference to the Supreme Court, which ordered a series of investigations into Bolsonaro and his entourage over allegations of systematic dissemination of fake news within the government that echoed occasions in the United States.
He has declared a competitive political war against judges he perceives as hostile. Bolsonaro apparently tells judges they deserve to see the mass demonstrations against him as an “ultimatum. “
There’s a lot of Brazil for Miller, Trump and Bolsonaro:
