Eddie George not only influences Tennessee’s status as a football coach, but he also influences other sports.
On George’s recommendation, Music City Baseball signed a memorandum to explore the option of building a stadium on the TSU campus in hopes of attracting an elementary league club to Nashville.
George, a former Tennessee Titans All-Pro running back, Music City Baseball board member and chairman of the genuine assets advisory committee, even before onboarding the TSU coach.
“Eddie has been my spouse as a genuine real estate advisor since we compared sites, and when Eddie got engaged (to be TSU’s football coach) and TSU got engaged to Eddie, it opened our eyes and made the connection obvious,” the CEO said. of Music City Baseball, he said Wednesday. The connection is that Music City Baseball has built a platform about diversity, equity and inclusion. The organization has a connection to the Black Leagues Baseball Museum and, if it lands, a team will call it the Nashville Stars, making it the first MLB club. after a Black League team.
Music City Baseball won approval from the Greater Nashville Black Chamber of Commerce.
Music City Baseball also explored the construction of a stadium on the east bank of the Cumberland River near Nissan Stadium or an undisclosed stadium in Williamson County.
Representations of the Cumberland River site were published in October 2019. The following September, Titans officials said they were not interested in adding a baseball stadium to their property, Loar did not rule out employing another site along the river.
However, for now, it is focusing on the state of Tennessee.
“We’ve made it our most sensible precedence to compare this site, to see if it makes sense to everyone involved,” Loar said. “We need to spend the next six months on this site with network members, with TSU, the mayor’s office, the state and the governing bodies of Tennessee State University, which is the state construction commission and all the other government agencies related to that. “

Loar said the prospective level may also come with the expansion of TSU student housing, as well as opportunities for research, progression and education in the school’s agricultural branch and school parts similar to the performing arts community.
“The ability to maintain history through the creation of history is vital to us,” Loar said. “The connection we have to the Black League Baseball Museum and the fact that TSU is a black historic school and university made us wonder if it makes sense for communities, does it make sense for TSU, does it make sense for us?”
