No Time To Die will offer the country’s cinemas the biggest opening since 2019, as ticket sales get ahead of the box office hit’s launch.
The highly anticipated James Bond film, which will be Daniel Craig’s last appearance in the role, will be released on Thursday after a brilliant world premiere at the Royal Albert Hall on Tuesday night, in the presence of members of the royal family.
Film chain Odeon said it has already sold more than 175,000 tickets for the film in the two weeks since it went on sale and expects the film to be the summer of 2019.
Meanwhile, Cineworld, which closed the doors of its cinemas when the film was delayed last year, said it had already sold several screenings.
Vue theaters sold more than 270,000 tickets before and expect the film to be the biggest since the Star Wars episode The Rise Of Skywalker in December 2019.
The film suffered several delays in release due to the coronavirus pandemic, but bosses resisted requests that it have to be seen at home.
Since then, actors and creatives hope this will give a special touch to multiplexes that have yet to recover from months of closure.
Odeon said about 40 of the tickets go to consumers returning to the theater for the first time since they reopened following the pandemic shutdowns, with more than a third purchased through moviepassers over the age of 46.

Cineworld, which closed 127 Cineworld and Picturehouse locations in a while after the announcement of the film’s postponement until April 2021, will screen the film in the hundred theaters it has recently opened.
